Fulton County Board of Commissioners Selects Sole Finalists for Police Chief & Chief Medical Examiner

On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners named the Sole Finalists for the position of Police Chief and Chief Medical Examiner. Applications for both finalists are available for public inspection in the Office of the Clerk of the Commission, 141 Pryor Street, 10th Floor, Atlanta GA 30303.
William “Wade” Yates has been named as finalist for the position of Chief of the Fulton County Police Department. Yates has served as Interim Police Chief since November 2020, and previously served as Deputy Police Chief. He has served with the Fulton County Police Department since 1993.
The Board has also named Karen E. Sullivan, M.D. as the sole finalist for the position of Chief Medical Examiner. Dr. Sullivan has served as the Interim Chief Medical Examiner since February 2020. She previously served as the Deputy Chief Medical Examiner, and has served with the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office since 2003.
The Board of Commissioners will take a final vote on both appointments on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.
